For Clemson's Spiller, it's all in the wrists

Clemson running back C.J. Spiller is into wristbands.

“They’re my tattoos,” Spiller said Sunday at the ACC Football Kickoff.

Only easier to put on and much easier to take off.

Spiller has three on each wrist – pink, yellow and orange on his left wrist, orange, yellow and white on his right wrist.

Each has its own message.

He has the obligatory ‘Livestrong’ wristband and the others are related to Clemson football. One says, ‘One Clemson, Are You Orange?’ Another reads, ‘Saturday Soldier.’

There’s one that says, ‘Dabo’s All-In Team,’ a reference to coach Dabo Swinney’s mantra.

The white is left over from last year and reads, ‘Great In ’08.’

Uh, not exactly.

This year’s model – an orange one – reads, ‘It’s Time In ’09.’

Clemson fans would agree.
