Wolfpack gets another commit, from NJ safety

N.C. State, which seems to add another commitment daily, now has one from 6-foot, 210-pound safety Donald Coleman of the Hun School in Princeton, N.J.

Coleman, who grew up in Detroit, said he was also offered scholarships by Iowa, Minnesota and Delaware. He is the 22nd player to commit to the Wolfpack.

He liked the way N.C. State finished strong in coach Tom O'Brien's second season, he said, and thinks the program is on the way to winning championships.

In his post-graduate season at the Hun School, Coleman, who has 4.45 speed, had 75 tackles and also forced five fumbles. He played running back as well, scoring seven touchdowns and gaining more than 800 yards rushing.

If you live in New Jersey would not ANYTHING be better?

Please stop posting State committments. It just fuels their delusional fan-base, who believes they are "one player away from the BCS" EVERY year. Who cares if their signees also visited Wofford, Wingate, Catawba, and Minnesota Tech? Same for Klempson.

Our delusional fan base only knows that 41-10 was the final score with our rival. While Butch is lauded for landing his "star" players, TOB quitely goes about building a team of character indivduals, not partial qualifiers. How come we never see an article in the Observer about UNC's over recruitment which leads to players scholarships being pulled because thay are .1 second slower in the 40?

Dear Tuesdy - If you don't want to hear about our recruits, then don't read the blogs about it. It's that easy. Our fan base is anything but delusional. We are happy to support our team, win or lose, season after season because that's our school and we are proud of them. GO PACK!

It was simply a public service announcement. And yes, most of the State fan base is horribly delusional about its status, but you are also quite loyal.

Tuesdy - You obviously mistake the fans' love for their team as being delusional. What's delusional is that you continue to think you are right about this. Get over yourself.

I admire a fan's love for the team. I don't admire the expectations some fans place on schools like State and Klempson. I got upset when I heard Wake season ticket holders grousing about the coaching and worried about the BCS. I was like, "this is the best stretch we've EVER had and your complaining?"

My deal is that its not fair to the team.

Tuesdy - I don't think fans place too much expectations on the team AT ALL at State. If you have noticed, the fans are die-hard in good times and in bad. I'd call that being the opposite of delusional. Yes, we want wins, but when we don't get them, we don't give up on our team, we keep cheering them on. It's more than I can say for many other teams' fans who desert the stadium with an entire quarter left to go, leaving their team to endure cheering for the other team when they are down. Pack fans are dedicated, as are many other teams' fans. And I am confused, Tuesdy, as to why you are griping about State when it's comment from a Wake fan about the BCS that made you mad. Looks like you targeted the wrong team with your comments.
