Papajohns.com Bowl: Good response from Pack

N.C. State’s ticket office has sold about 5,500 of the school’s allotment of 10,000 seats for the Papajohns.com Bowl, school assistant athletics director for ticket operations Brian Kelly said Thursday.

The Wolfpack (6-6) will meet Rutgers (7-5) on Dec. 29 in the game in Birmingham, Ala. Kelly said school officials still are taking orders daily. The school ticket office will take orders by phone through Tuesday and will continue accepting online orders through Dec. 26.

Bowl sales and marketing manager Bo Kerr said most of the ticket orders taken directly by the bowl are received online, so it’s impossible to tell for sure how many patrons of that outlet are N.C. State fans. But he said there are a lot of orders from fans who have phone numbers with North Carolina area codes.

“We’ve gotten very good response from N.C. State,” Kerr said. “We’re expecting to have a good crowd.”

State, historically, travels very well. Let's go pack!

Birmingham Alabama....how exciting! At least Pack fans will not be scared by all the tractors and polyester.

5000 is NOT traveling well in any way, shape or form!! For a fanbase that thinks they are the most supportive fans, that is pathetic!!

That place is a horrible place to have a bowl game. Old Stadium that could fall down any minute.

5,000 isn't bad for a scrimmage

It's really a shame that people read blogs about another school just to make negative comments. We are proud of the pack no matter what! And if you read the whole blog, the Papajohns.com reps said they are selling many tickets directly, many to NC residents, which is not included in 5,000 being sold from NC State. It amazes me that people can't believe someone chose to go to and support another school than their own. Get over it, the world does NOT revolve around just your school.

But it does around yours...right?

UNC is playing in their backyard, and if they didn't sell out the only bowl game in their own state, you can bet I'd be laughing. But they did, so kudos for that. But you can't even say you travel well, cause going to Charlotte ain't traveling. LOL! Sorry that most Pack fans are smart enough to find the best seats for the best price, which happen to come directly from the bowl. If you've ever been to a bowl game to support your school, you'd know that. But then again, 9 out of 10 UNC fans have never even stepped foot on the campus, let alone attend school there. Get a clue.

Go throw a parade. I am sure State will.

Another Crap Bowl! 5-5 record and you get into a bowl? That is hillarious! BCS Sucks! FCS is where it's at!

How about those 5,000 Pack backers bring their pick up trucks up the mountain instead of the Pizza Bowl. Let's do NCSU vs. App. St. for the State Title next weekend at The Rock...

1) Most Pack fans are buying tickets thru the bowl, not the WPC. They we be there.

2)41-10, just in case you forgot!

What a pathetic fanbase that can only come up with 41-10. 6-6 BABY!! You all suck in every sport you play! nc sucks is the most pathetic sports school in college sports. You losers should only DREAM for the revenue from the so called Walmart fans! Of course, why would Walmart want a highly unsuccessful sports label in their VERY success business establishment? Do they even stock nc sucks merchandise?

There will be atleast 10,000 fans there. Most purchased through the bowl website.

10,000 Wolfpack fans in Birmingham will double the amount of Tarheel fans present in Kenan with 10 minutes left to go in the fourth quater.

41-10 tarholes. Glad you can travel to charlotte when you people already live there. Hell if we had a bowl game in Raleigh Durham area we would sell the place out also. I was in Chapel Hill during the beatdown and we had more than enough red in the stadium!!! Make it to a bowl game outside of NC then you can talk something. GOD I hate you holier thou attitudes you ewwnc fans have.

I'd say my favorite part of beating Carowina so bad at Kenan was the amount of people wearing red and when the stadium was overtaken by NC State yelling WOLF - PACK! And the masses of UNC fans practically running out of the stadium with the entire 4th quarter left to play. Why the lack of support for your team?
In all seriousness, I think people take this too seriously. State fans are proud of their team, as they should be! Get over yourselves, tarheels.

Don't get your hopes up too high, wolf packers. Rutgers is way too good for your half assed team. You may think you got better during the season (which you did), but the Knights were and are better than you, by a lot. 54-10, RU wins. Your freshman QB will get his next year.... it's Teel time this December.

Anon 11:21. That's funny, in a misguided thinking sort of way. Go Pack!
