Seniors Jamelle Eugene, Jeraill McCuller and Willie Young have been elected team captains by N.C. State's players, the school announced Monday.
The team elected captains during a meeting Sunday night. Practice begins shortly after 5 p.m. today.
Eugene, the projected starter at halfback, has 1,168 career rushing yards. Young, a defensive end, ranks 11th in school history with 31.5 tackles for loss. McCuller started every game at right tackle last season, allowing just two sacks in 795 snaps.
"These three young men are great choices," coach Tom O'Brien said in a statement. "They have shown great leadership throughout spring practice and in our summer workouts and their hard work and dedication has earned them the respect of their teammates."
