Tar Heels ranked 20th is the headline while the Hokies are ranked in the top 10 is buried in the story???

CO sucks...

This is a North Carolina newspaper.

20th? Wow. No excuses for the 2 million dollar man and all that talent.

9:59 you do realize this is a NC newspaper & not Virginia? They didn't have to mention them at all.

You idiot this is the Charlotte Observer which is in North Carolina. Who cares about VA Tech, get a clue moron.

Remember the journalism school is in Chapel Hell. The Charlotte Disturber has always had a Tarhole bias along with it far left liberal stance. That is why the print addition is great for training puppies and lining bird cages but not worth paying the daily rate to have a subscription

What a joke! ECU will steamroll over UNC-CH and Butch Davis' visor! By the end of the season, UNC-CH will have underperformed for a 4-8 record. So sorry!

Is Blake still helping out the recruit$ in Chapel Hill? LOL!

UNC football is always hyped and always fails. Their empty aluminum bleachers will tell the story and Butch Davis will move on to greener pastures. UNC fans don't care about football. It's only a diversion until bball. Go Hokies!

ECU has got to get through Appalachian First

Wait an minute! Duke is going to take out the baby blue cry babies this year in Chapel Hill. ESPN sure thinks so.

True, although didn't App's qb have an unfortunate lawnmower accident? Oh, and UNC, their fans, and their visor wearing coach sucks!

Anonymous 10:21: If you don't like the Charlotte Observer, why do you log on and read the articles? Either find another news source or stop complaining.

Wow! All the nuts are out today. Butch Davis will lead the Tarheels to a 12-0 record THIS YEAR and beat all you haterz! Suck it chumps!

Don't worry. Little Carolina (UNC-CH) is too scared to play the real Carolina (South Carolina). I think BD goes 5-7 this year and bolts for the SEC. UNC fans can't tailgate and don't show up for games. Oh, and Spurrier still owns UNC-CH!!!

Duke will beat UNC-CH in football this year. And the cry babies from UNC will be madder than heck!

I'm sorry but did I miss something. When was the last time USC (South Carolina) was relevant in any sport other than baseball? I love watching you die hards get all pumped up for your Cock's only to see them let you down year after year! And Dook will beat Carolina in football this year just like they were going to beat them in bball for the past 4 yrs...how did that work out for you? I will admit that college football is exciting until January when nothing makes sense and you're still arguing who the NC should be! UNC wins ACC in both bball and fball and smacks you pieces of Dookie around once again! Daunce yourselves!

"You idiot this is the Charlotte Observer which is in North Carolina. Who cares about VA Tech, get a clue moron."

^^Wow. I almost forgot about Chapel Hill's snobbery. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm in no way a VT fan but you should care about the rest of the conference because that's your competition. Also, aren't USC and Clemson just as close to Charlotte? Should the Observer stop covering them cause they're out of state? No. You could say the Observer is in the same region as all these teams. Thanks for mentioning all CO!!

Anonymous said...

Go back to Virginia and maybe you'll see more coverage of VT.

Duke will beat UNC-CH this year in football and Butch will move on to greener pastures. At least UNC won't have to pay for Butch's undeserved (blackmail) raise.

Whatever happened to the UNC-CH linemen that were beat up by those two large "ladies" in Chapel Hill last year? Are they still with the team, or behind bars?

Anonymous said...

Yes, this is a paper IN North Carolina, but they are suppopsed to cover stories relevant to the region! The WHOLE ACC is relevant to people who read this paper! If they want to leave out SEC teams, fine, but cover the issues important to the people in Charlotte who will read it!

Anonymous said...

Anon 10:47 - South Carolina is not the real "Carolina," it's not even the real "USC." Your school and Columbia suck. Get over it.

"Yes, this is a paper IN North Carolina, but they are suppopsed to cover stories relevant to the region!"

Sorry!!! Your lame VT will NEVER become UNC! You are all losers anyway. Good luck always being lower than UNC - University of National Champins! loser, losers.

If Butch Davis goes 0-3 vs. State, you'd better place all UNCers on suicide watch. And Butch better then be fired!

Anonymous said...

Don't worry! Visor Boy Jr. will also lose to ECU. He might be run out of Chapel Hill before the end of the season. Cheers!

hahaha. The Charlotte Observer is a North Carolina paper. Thanks to all who mentioned that. I wouldn't have known unless otherwise mentioned. Anyways this is ACC territory and not just UNC Territory. The CO never covers wake, clemson, or south carolina. I'm a graduate of Virginia Tech and wow, don't even mention those hokies. We own all NC schools and always have. Payback will come this year to the Pirates. UNC has no chance coming into Blacksburg. Get over it Heels fans, your a basketball school and baseball school. I'm sick of hearing about Tar Heel football when they don't do anything. Recruits don't mean anything when you can't do a thing with em.

Anonymous said...

You just wait! Butch will own all you cowards! He will show you all who's boss! LOL! and Shut UP!

Anonymous said...

What a bunch of whiny UNC-CH fairweather fans. As soon as ECU goes up 7-0, the UNC fans will stream out of the gate to get their wine and cheese apps.

Anonymous said...

0-2 vs. wolfpack...still waiting anonymous.

UNC was ranked 19th preseason of last year. Just another yawner prediction.

I think NIKE writes these for the paper.

Anonymous said...

hey man, butch should worry about those cowards in raleigh first before he can focus on the crown and jewel of the ACC, HOKIES. is it 0-2 against the pathetic wolfpack?

Anonymous said...

Who cares about Butch Davis? He's a has been cast off from the NFL who blackmailed UNC into a raise last year. He'll be lucky to go 5-7 this year with guaranteed losses against ECU, VT, Miami, NCSU, and FSU. Good luck Visor Boy Jr.

UNC-CH = All Hype

Butch should have left last year.

Preseason Polls don't mean jack for teams not in the top 10. If your not in the top 10 you have no chance at the BCS title game.

So that means Preseason rankings are useless. No since in people getting riled up for nothing, but the Observer does have a sever UNC bias probably because most of the editors went to UNC.

The print "addition"??? Obviously, YOU didn't go to school anywhere.

They will lose their first game so this ranking is irrelevant. Typical Carolina football.

Anonymous said...

Rediculous. North Carolina #20. based on what? The royay tail whipping NCSU gave them at the end of last season? Give me a $#@# break.

Anonymous said...

They will lose their first game?? Whah?? to the Citadel?? Come on - do some homework before you spout off anti-Carolina BS.
