Tar Heels suspend Moss for Charlotte bowl

CHAPEL HILL — North Carolina freshman Donte Moss has been suspended for the Dec. 26 Meineke Bowl, coach Butch Davis said Tuesday.

The reserve defensive end will continue to practice with the team, but will not play because of an altercation that occurred at the end of UNC's season finale against N.C. State.

"Donte was involved in a thing at the end of the N.C. State game, and he made a very, very unwise action, pushing a guy away that was kind of taunting him and in his face,'' Davis said. "We had a private conversation and talked about it, and as I told him, it's something (where) you've got to have composure. It's frustrating, disappointing to lose a ball game, but you can't lose your cool and lose your composure. So we are going to suspend him for the game, and he's not going to participate and play."

In July, Moss was also involved in an on-campus altercation with a teammate; a misdemeanor charge of assault was dropped. Davis said those involved at the time were "disciplined internally."

Classy UNC in action. Keep it classy, now everyone have some cheese and crackers followed by a good half glass of pinot.

Hey Coach Davis, you might want to pass that along to Roy Williams.

NOT FAIR... it was the Wolfpack, they deserved it after stealing the game away from us!

Butchy has definitely lowered the standards at UNC. Between the multiple incidents of Dante Moss and the complete thuggery displayed by Greg Little it is apparent that Butch is running a program that cares more about "swagger" than character.

State fans talking about class...now that's funny!

Hey Anon 4:00pm, did you come up with that joke yourself? I've never heard it before.

Who is the Wulfpack suspending for their bowl game?

You don't get suspended for just "losing your cool." What exactly were his actions that caused him the suspension. And "taunting" on the field, although juvenile, takes place in every game, by someone on every team. If Butch thinks otherwise, he is sorely mistaken. I am certain UNC players made as many or more taunting remarks while they were ahead, the difference being that State used it as fuel for the fire and won the game. Lesson learned?

$10 says Donte Moss will be kicked off the team by the time he is a junior. It wouldn't suprise anyone at Northside...lets just say he has a reputation. I cringed when he chose UNC, I knew it wouldn't be good for us.

Oooh, sick burn. Your 4-4 ACC record got you a nice December bowl game, after losing to the Wolfpack for a 3rd straight year. Lets throw a parade for Butch Davis.

How about let's throw a parade in a cornfield at John Deere U. for TOB who can only coach his team up to win against UNC and not go to a bowl game!!! Moo U had a far superior advantage at QB and still were fortunate that a FG wasn't converted and escaped with a 1 point win!!!

Dude, you realize that whole "throw a parade" line is based on the parade Pack fans threw for Amato, right? So you are actually making fun of the Pack when you are trying to make fun of the Heels. Nice.

wusspack fans are idiots.

but don't worry- the ncaa bass fishing tny is always there to shoot for. it is the only thing state has been relevant in since the late jimmy v was ran off for doing the only thing he could to make them competitive. cheat.
