Miss Alabama USA 2012 Katherine Webb, who is dating University of Alabama starting quarterback AJ McCarron, got some airtime on ESPN early in Monday's BCS Championship Game.
Webb, who graduated from Auburn University, was in Florida to watch McCarron and his teammates play against Notre Dame.
About 30 minutes into the game, the camera turned to Webb, and we got these, um, interesting comments from sportscaster Brent Musburger.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Musburger’s comments started a "Twitter firestorm." Webb's Twitter follower count rocketed, shooting past McCarron and past the 100,000 threshold by the end of the game.
Prior to the game, Miss Alabama had about 2,000 followers, according to Sporting News.

Oh be serious. Musburger didn't say anything that was inappropriate. Things have gotten way out of hand with the PC mentality these days.
She's attractive, but we have girls that are just as good looking in Charlotte. As for Brent Musburger, I can't really blame him. She was more interesting than the game.
Seriously? From a paper that gets runs stories about MTV Teen Moms and Linday Lohan? This is a story? Ha ha. I love the hypocritical double standard the liberal media plays by. You cannot beat Southern women, or Southern football. Deal with it and stop hating. Compare the shots of the Notre Dame fans during the beatdown -- I challenge you to find any beauty queens in that group lol. And Brent Musburger is a legend, leave the guy alone.
Give me a break! I can't believe this is a thing. This guy points out a hot lady and it's a major story.
Plus, you can't swing a stick in Gainesville without hitting three women just as hot as this one.
Musberger has always been a goober, but c'mon... his remarks were fine. He wasn't inappropriate!
The only things here that are blown out of proportion are the comments. ... Nowhere does the article call the remarks "inappropriate" or compare Brent Musberger to Lindsay Lohan. ... One link called them "awkward," and the article said they were "interesting." And they were, as well as amusing. Not a bad way to spend 33 seconds of your life.
